About Aimil Healthcare

About Disease

Skin diseases have a high prevalence throughout the world. Infections & inflammatory disorders of the skin like Eczema, Psoriasis, Acne, and Pimples are prevalent. Skin disorders can be inherited or may be present as a part of systemic disorders. Approximately 15% of the population develops a skin problem, increasing the workload on the family doctors. The common reason of skin diseases is an infection, hormonal imbalance, disturbed sleep, anxiety, and depression.

Acne

Acne is a common skin condition when hair follicles under the skin become clogged. As a result, sebum—oil that helps keep skin from drying out—and dead skin cells plug the pores, which leads to outbreaks of lesions, commonly called pimples or zits. Most often, the episodes occur on the face but can also appear on the back, chest, and shoulders.

PSORIASIS

“Psoriasis” is an immune-mediated skin disease characterized by an overproduction of skin cells that results in flaky and patchy raised areas on the skin surface characterized by inflamed skin that produces red, thickened patches covered with silver-colored scales plaques. Psoriasis is classified into four main types. These are plaque psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, postural psoriasis, and inverse psoriasis. This classification is made based on appearance.

Eczama

Eczema is “a general term for any superficial inflammatory process involving the epidermis primarily. It is also known as atopic dermatitis. It is common in young children but can affect them at any age. Eczema was marked early by redness, itching, minute papules, and cracked & extremely dry skin primarily occurring at skin-fold areas like the elbow, back of knees, groin areas, etc.

Investigations

ACNE

Acne is diagnosed by a simple visual inspection by your healthcare provider. There is no test for acne. Rarely may a practitioner take a swab or scraping of a lesion or pustule for microbiological examination or culture to rule out other sources of infection.

PSORIASIS

About 95 percent of the time, healthcare providers can make a psoriasis diagnosis just by visual inspection & history. But doctors at Aimil Healthcare and Research Centre will deeply consider where the raised, red scales appear if they have well-defined edges, and how the rash responds to a medication when diagnosing.
Psoriasis may seem similar to eczema, but the physician can only determine several differences:

● Psoriasis plaques are well-defined, while eczema tends to be flatter with less well-defined edges.

● Eczema typically occurs in locations atypical for psoriasis, such as the front of elbows or behind the knees.

● Psoriasis is most often found on the outside of knees and elbows,  the scalp, the lower back, the face, the palms, and the soles of the feet. However, it also can develop in other places such as fingernails, toenails, genitals, and inside the mouth.

ECZEMA

Diagnosis is based primarily on the patient’s symptoms, but medical history is also essential. A physician at Aimil Healthcare and Research Center will often ask about a patient’s family & disease histories, such as diabetes or chronic infection. In addition, possible exposure to irritants, whether any foods are related to flare-ups, sleep disturbances, or past treatment for skin disorders, helps the physician to rule out the exact diagnosis.

Note- For all skin-related diagnoses, some baseline laboratory studies like CBC, Urine culture, LFT, allergic test, etc. are done before starting treatment.

Physical Activities

Physical Advice For Acne
Aimil Healthcare and Research Centre strongly believes in the benefits of physical activity to mark improvement in any disease. Physicians suggest patients do regular exercises. Exercise helps cut stress and may contribute to acne outbreaks. Physical activity also helps your skin.

Physical Advice For PSORIASIS
The self-help measures and physical activities help in the fast cure of psoriasis. They may help improve the appearance of the skin. Bathing daily helps remove scales and calm inflamed skin. Psoriatic patients should avoid hot water and harsh soaps, which can worsen the symptoms. Also, a controlled amount of sunlight can significantly improve lesions. Infections, injuries to your skin, stress, smoking, and intense sun exposure can all worsen psoriasis.

Physical Advice For Eczema
Sports and exercise are the best-recognized ways to maintain and enhance good health. Unfortunately, eczema does not always make it easy for children or adults to participate in activities as too much sweat irritates the skin, but indulging in light sports activities like yoga and indoor games can make eczema patients healthy and can improve their metabolism. Also, sun exposure helps improve the skin conditions of the patients.

General lifestyle guidelines for all types of skin disorders-
– Avoid using harsh chemical-based soap.
– Hot water must not be used for baths. Instead, add some olive oil to the water.
– If the skin is over dehydrated, rough & cracky, apply ghee or do an oil massage.
– Woolen cloths are not suitable for skins affected by arid skin conditions.

Dietary Advice

Dietary Advice For Acne

A healthy diet can give you a perfect metabolism to fight skin disease. Some foods cause your blood sugar to rise quickly, triggering a boost in insulin. Too much insulin in your bloodstream can trigger changes in your body that can lead to the growth of pore-clogging cells. It can also boost action in your oil glands. A few foods that help in acne recovery include-

● Whole grains, beans, veggies & fruits
● Cut back on white rice, white bread, and sugar in your meal.
● Increase the amount of fluid intake.

Dietary Advice For PSORIASIS

For psoriatic patients, a diet regime has to be followed during the entire treatment period, and it  is better to continue as a vegetarian. Yogurt, black gram, chilies, and salted foods must be restricted. It is better to avoid refrigerated/chilled foods. Psoriatic patients must keep a state of
mental calmness. Also, avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol consumption may decrease the effectiveness of some psoriasis treatments.

Dietary Advice For Eczema

The skin will be a constant source of itching and scratching in eczema. However, some foods bring relief to eczema patients.

– Flavonoid-rich fruits like apples, blueberries, and cherries are good
– Green leafy vegetables like spinach, bitter gourd, and kale style=”color: #000;” are beneficial
– Yogurt is beneficial for eczema patients.
– Spices like turmeric and cardamom are a must-add to a regular diet
